He sees strength on the bluff, the sinkholes, and arches, and is amazed by the small parts that are left after the erosion process happens and how large masses of land are supported. These ideas influence the shapes and surface textures and designs of his bowls and cups.
The ceramic artwork is inspired by going abalone diving, fishing, and checking out the sea life while walking on the Stornetta lands.
Justin is inspired by looking at the tectonic plates and sinkholes where there is a lot of erosion and how the small parts of land connect to create a “foot” or arches.
