Alexandra Magnan

The voice of the sea inspires me. Each of my hand-crafted, one-of-a-kind pieces tells a story of where it has been and how it was shaped by tides and time.

I use many found treasures and nautical elements in my work and design them to capture nature: suncatchers that reflect morning light, windchimes that announce a beautiful breeze on the horizon. I love taking objects gathered outdoors—shells, driftwood, minerals, stones—and letting them tell me what they want to become. Whether you choose something for your own home or to give as a unique gift, I hope my creations bring a touch of whimsy and keep telling their story.

I am a self-taught artist living on the beautiful Northern California coast amongst the redwoods. I have begun to exhibit at our local Point Arena art gallery of the Coast Highway Artists Collective,

called the CHAC gallery, and at other seasonal select venues, such as the Bodega Bay Exhibit, pictured at left. When I’m not in my studio, you can find me beachcombing, cooking, tending my garden, and snuggling my three reclaimed dogs.
