Diane Cochran has long been a part of the artist community on the Mendocino Coast of California. For more than 20 years she created concrete garden sculptures which can be seen in homes, gardens and galleries across the country. Her own sculpture garden was a popular stop on the North Coast Artist Guild Studio Discovery Tour for many years.
But the time came to move on to other artistic endeavors and Diane began to explore working with pastels. Among her teachers were Marsha Connell, Dawn Emerson, Clark Mitchell, and Mira White. In August 2016 she entered Art in the Redwoods in Gualala, CA, her first public showing of her new work, and took a first place. In December of 2016 she had her first one woman show of her pastels at the 215 Main Wine Bar in Point Arena, a well known venue on the south coast art scene, and at the beginning of 2017 Diane joined the coast highway art collective, CHAC. Collections of her newest work will be on regular display at the CHAC gallery in Point Arena.
